Everyday is a new opportunity to learn.

The teaching of English Language in Cameroon is a necessity. The Global World today keeps connecting people from different cultures, language backgrouds, countries, etc. To facilitate communication, the learning of the world's most infleuntial language is important especially to Cameroonian youth whose dreams to apply for opportunities abroad are alarming. As we become increasingly active on social media, our English Language skills keep decreasing. Also, interaction between English Language and French language, English Language and other local Languages without the exception of pidgin English and CamFrAnglais in the context of Cameroon, is an obstacle to the mastery of English Language. In cognisance of the above, the British Council through its programme, English Connects, seeks to reinforce the teaching and learning process with new techniques and methods of teaching.

As part of YOCEP's objective to promote quality education in Cameroon through reading and writing activities, and mentoring programmes, Atum Roger Fomban made his presence felt through his active participation that saw him being selected by the British Council to take a three months online course. 22 February, 2020 marks the English Language Day at La Falaise Hotel in Yaounde under the programme English Connects, a programme that connected different actors in the education field.

To improve language skills, the British Council introduced a software (a program) that will be helpful to learners of English Language. The App comprises of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and spelling activities, including a section reserved for games. It is worth mentioning that these games are based on specific activitics aimed at enhancing language skills. If you wish to improve your language skills, the British Council offers online programmes which you can login to at your convenience.
